Like universities, if you have enough personal info (Student / exam number) you can search the results of that person on the University website.

So available to a certain extent.
 
No, it's fine as it is for now but the learners should be given an option to give their consent for future publication.
 
Many years ago when I finished matric, my aunt checked my results in the newspaper, and then phoned to congratulate me at like 06h00. As she told me how proud she was of me, all I could think was "If she is so proud, why the f*** didn't she let me sleep in?"

Save others from the suffering I endured. Don't publish the results.
 
I voted no. Not for privacy concerns, but the reality is, matric exams are the worst stress most kids will have experienced in their lives. So much riding on them, so much pressure, that if they've underperformed the perception of their failure being perceived as "public" could just be too much to bear.
 
Not necessary in this tech age. Make them available online for access only by a student. They already do that with those SMS service, WhatsApp and other online avenues just maybe not free but the department should make it free. This newspaper thing puts undue pressure on the matriculants. They have nosy neighbours and what not buying the things to see if others passed or failed instead of worrying about their own failing spawn.
 
No. Pupils can get their results via sms/schools.

Busy-bodies wanting to know who passed/failed can get their kicks elsewhere

Results: Yes, individual results, leaning to no, as a taxpayer ought to see what I'm stolen for.
 
No. Who ever needs to see will see it upon application for job or tertiary education.

it doesn't really matter. Equity > results.

The online service is zero rated so the department is really trying to make things easy for the learners.
