Is it really worth bothering with a third party launcher on a Sony phone? The default is pretty close to stock innit?

What are the benefits?

Because AL3 is unique, nothing like stock. It's veeeeery pretty ie. material design. And the developer is worth supporting ;) I bought AL2 and now AL3. Best money I've spent on the play store.

Yes. Having customisable icon packs, icon density and spacing, and far more granular levels of control over the elements are worth the cost, IMO.

Look at it this way- you use your phone every single day, and the launcher is the first point of reference to that. If AL3 makes your usability experience easier and more pleasant, surely it's worth the price of a takeaway lunch?

I am very happy with the way my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact look. I use Nova Launcher and don't customize that much.

Stock Sony looks great either way.
