I have the ShowMax app installed on an Android 7.0 Samsung S7 and an Android 5.1.1 Samsung 10 inch tablet. I connect one of the devices via an MHL cable to an LG TV via one of the HDMI ports. I connect the USB split of the cable to power. The TV fails to detect a signal from either device.

How can I watch ShowMax over MHL?

Might be worth the investment...

Seriously , this is painful as what if you need something else later on...

Get yourself a nice AndroidTV media box and enjoy smooth access to ShowMax and more :D .

Set you back either cash or contract :

1) R1099 for Telkom LIT_Box or R48+- x 12 from Telkom Read the official thread to know what to expect ;) over 1400 replies alone.
2) R1699 +- for Xiaomi Mi Box Geewiz for R1795.00 or from Cyberrange for R1699.00
3) Another player of your choice.

These both have Chromecast built-in so no need for MHL with a cable

Thanks -- I'll have a look. Do these run the ShowMax app on them?

MHL was R120 plus R50 postage ;)

Multichoice never allowed a device on which the Dstv Drifta application was displayed to be " thrown " onto a bigger screen through MHL adaptor for Samsung or other cables for devices - probably same scenario here with the way they do things. Only option those days were to connect laptop to TV with Drifta running on laptop with the screen resizer mod.

Already confirmed above but yes, ShowMax among others are all officially supported [barring Netflix official certification for Telkom's box but a quick sideload won't hurt lol]

That wasn't too bad :p .

Thanks for the REP  @SabreWolfy

Let us know what you decide to go with :D.
