Nice ... I have tried about 5 others and finally settled on the one gfmalan posted. I guess if you type a lot, that microsoft one will work better.
Mine works well as an airmouse with Kodi.
What's that little PC called gfmalan?
Intel brought out this small form factor pc stick
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/compute-stick/intel-compute-stick.html
Then some other vendors bought it, and brand it
http://mecer.co.za/mecer-pc-on-stick-s01/
or
Proline pc stick
The price range from R1600 - R2700
Takealot has the proline and intel one.
I bought mine from Mustek, and Frontosa also has the Intel one.
Just take note, you get a MS Windows one and Linux one, Linux one has less ram if I remember. The OS price included in the deal!
Apparently there was an update on Showmax (Application)
Can anyone feedback on the changes and if it made a MASSIVE difference to how it was?
Are you talking about the Windows browser app or the Android app ?
Just tested Showmax and the 720p quality is really bad on a 40" LED. Videos look very jerky and blocky especially around peoples faces. Netflix 480p quality looks 3 times better. Showmax might be okay on tablets and phones but for enjoying it on a TV it's a no go unless they increase their bitrate or start using x265 encoding.
Just compare a show on Netflix in 720p on your PC and then the same show in Showmax, can't believe the difference in quality.
And only season 1 or 2 available for shows on Showmax that are already at season 5, doesn't impress me.
^^^ Now that is what I call smart.
So I've recently helped a friend setup Showmax and found that Widevine plugin needed to play videos on the site didn't work on Firefox (kept saying it was corrupt). Got it working in Internet Explorer (IE, Firefox and Safari apparently the only browsers that support this). Anyone else having this issue?
Works in Chrome since Widevine is owned by Google. Maybe try this full installer in Firefox http://www.widevine.com/download/videooptimizerSo I've recently helped a friend setup Showmax and found that Widevine plugin needed to play videos on the site didn't work on Firefox (kept saying it was corrupt).
