ShowMax

I had the same from a tablet, then updated the app now it works. The communication from showmax is k*k!

Showmax is down for me on ADSL and LTE
 
Does anyone stream Showmax to their television with a media dongle? I'm looking at buying the Ezcast Wireless HD Media Dongle, but I have no idea if I could actually watch Showmax with it.

Showmax's 'official' word is that they only support Chromecast 1, Chromecast 2 and Nexus streamers. Has anyone had success using this dongle? And how did you do it?

Asked and answered: No this one won't work, but another more expensive one will.

Now you know!

Showmax sucks...my data usage is down by over 50% since moving to Netflix and it works all the time...just a pity Netflix content sucks...lol

Your data usage is down because you're watching less which means Showmax has 50% more watchable content than Netflix?

hahaha...wachting same amount as on Showmax since the kids still watch all the time. I should have clarified - not much on Netflix I want to watch. So...same amount of watching - but Netflix uses less data. Understand now?

Man...I always had it on the low setting right, the one that says 'up to 300Mb/hour'...pfff used way more than that (on a smart TV). Killed my data. Now using Netflix its using way less data but such poor content for my wife and I. The kids love it though. And the Showmax app/service kept crashing all the time and I mean like every 30mins. Error after error and keeps signing us out etc. Between a rock and a hard place now...and DSTV just keeps getting more and more expensive :(
 
If you're going to go the streaming route then data availability should be the last of your concerns.

Upgrade to capped that gives what you need.
 
Showmax has been out for a number of months now. I was going to give a review and feedback with regards to the service and platform however after reading all these comments I think i'll just join the consensus.

It is not worthy of a review, just insults!!!.......mind you, it is a Multichoice/DSTV service/product so yes........SHOWMAX is !@#$%
 
I like the selection on showmax though, I'll try it again next month and see if it's improved.

Guessing I would need to get a PC/Android device to watch on my Samsung smart TV? Any channels I'd be able to watch via that which will show the same sport as SuperSport - rugby and cricket etc.?

Or can I set this up on my ADSL router?
 
My Showmax on my AATV4 doesn't stop playing at the end of an episode and goes straight into the next episode, even when you have selected something else to watch. I land up with the audio from two different series being played at the same time. :wtf:

Is this pretty common?
