Siblings !

I was an only child, like my father before me. His father (born in 1875) was one of 9 children. So I learned early on to look after myself since dad was a chemical engineer and an inventor and sometimes did not come home until 9 o'clock and was always absent-minded. He used to forget my birthday until a week after. Mother was a music teacher in Wynberg and tried to be strict (her pupils were terrified of her) but I could manage her quite well. We did not really get on until I got married and moved out. Too similar.
 
Eldest of 4. My brother and I get on very well and are close however, the younger brother and sister below us are from new marriages and are much younger than me. I dont know them too well and although I try to show interest in their lives, its difficult as they are teens and doing their own thing. Also, alot of time has passed.
 
I have a younger sister. She's 3 years younger. We see each other maybe once or twice a month. I live about 1km away from my parents so whenever my sis visits I make a point of going to say hello.

She calls me every now and then to hear what's up and how the wife & the kids are doing. Oh, I married 1 of my sisters best friends at the time.

With the current digital age its easy to keep in touch with your siblings. Ie. BBM, What'sApp, Facebook, etc.
 
Youngest of 4, busy finishing up my Honours in accounting so I'm still at home. Parents are retired so they are often away, at least like 4 months of the year, and often away on weekends when in town!

That being said my oldest sister(33) stays in JHB so we don't see very often but My parents go there maybe 4-6 times a year, I'll go there maybe once or twice and she come here at least twice a year. My other siblings, brother(2nd oldest 30) and sister(26) within 2km of my parents house. We all see each other weekly, normally do supper etc!

I enjoy spending time with my family, we all get along very well, my dad is irritating at times (largely because he is bored with all the spare time he has)...
 
oldest -3 sisters and 1 brother. with the exception of 1 sister we all work together. watch "Mob Wives" and you've seen our behaviour although we don't have the lips, boobs or money. even though we fight like cat and dog we stick together, rely on one another and close ranks against outsiders who try to come between us.
 
Youngest of 4, next is 9 years, oldest 14. Can be difficult, we all adults but they sometimes treat me like their kid, right up until I tell them off.

Hmmmm, bit of a love hate. Being porra blooded don't help.
