Please can someone assist me.

I bought the 10 gig 8ta package.

I have tried to use the sim with my vodafone ZTE Corp K3805-Z dongle. The vodafone dashboard says the sim is not recognized. I also have a Linksys (Cisco Systems) router model no WRT54G3G Ver 1 with a vodafone Huawei sliding insert that you put the sim into and then into the router (dont know what the technical name is) model no E620.

Neither manage to recognize the 8ta sim and allow me to connect.

I downloaded the MDMA app. Deleted the existing vodafone dashboard. Turned off the router. I then attempted to run the vodafone dongle with the app and the 8ta sim. The app picks up the dongle model etc... but doesn't recognize the network.

Please can you assist me and tell me if there is anyway to remedy this problem before I have to go and fork out more cash for another dongle and router from 8ta.

Thanking you in advance.

You can't close as most applications, it goes back to system tray. You must go to the options menu and select "exit systray on exit".

Hi Tun@,

Thank you for the post. I tried it last night, but unfortunately the VMB still gives me a "sim not recognized" error.

Any other suggestions?

I also tried putting the 8ta sim into my samsung galaxy s2 to check if I could connect that way. I get full signal bars but no 3g/edge/hsdpa icon as I would usually when i have my contract sim in the phone. I then tried searching for networks via the settings menu, the 8ta network was found, but when selected it is says "unable to connect. please try again later."

Do you think there is a problem with the sim?

8ta tech support claims the sim is active on their network. I have also checked coverage for my area and I have full 3g signal.

It means VMB still is loaded in memory, you didn't follow advice.

@Jonny Blaze: Check APN, it should be "Internet" without quotes.

Hi guys,

Thank you both for your advice. My suspicions were confirmed today when I went in store and questioned the activation of my sim card. The clowns @ 8ta activated the wrong sim serial number so my original sim was never active to start with. After rectifying the matter, I once again tried the VBM dashboard along with the opcos file Tun@ supplied. Worked like a bomb!

Thanks again for all your advice!!!

Keep well!

Hello again all.

Thank you once again for your assist on getting the VBM Dongle to work. Now my next question is, how do I get the 8ta sim to work in my router so that the whole family can access wireless at home? I tried it last night but it wont connect. See details below:

Linksys (Cisco Systems) router model no WRT54G3G Ver 1 with a vodafone Huawei sliding insert that you put the sim into and then into the router (dont know what the technical name is) model no E620.

Thank you in advance. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
