I notice Simply Asia branches in Gauteng closing down. Yet in CT seem to survive.

Any ideas on what is causing the franchise to fail?

Their food is good. Their portions are tiny and prices ridiculous, so I've avoided them. Capetonians are notoriously stupid though, and they'll eat anything after a grass bowl...

I found their portions ok. Not too little not too much. And good food but yes their prices silly with no kid friendly items. Just wasnt worth it with family.

If you have a penis then their portions are too small. And there are some kid friendly items, just not marketed very well as such...

One in Boskruin just opened up. We now have two within a few kms of each other?

As stated before, tiny portions for exorbitant amounts.

Went there like 2 years ago. My GF ordered the sliced duck or whatever. It was R100 for 3 bite sized pieces. When we complained they said that's how it comes. Hope they all close down ****in scam artists.

I'll buy there on occasion for take-away. I've avoided it for a few months though.

If you're an obese tiny penis hater, you would just throw insults at those tiny red boxes. I think it's ok.. it fills a plate. I may eat something else if I was hungry.

So it's R180 for 3x noodles to feed the family. Expensive but not insane. Less than restaurant take away like Ocean Basket, similar to pizza, and double the price of KFC and other junk foods.

Yeah, I went to S.A. once - got diarrhea. Burnt, sweet noodles for R90. Never again.

I always seem to spend R62 or so which isn't too much? That is pretty much normal price for a meal anywhere that isn't half as good.

I find portions ok and I eat like a horse as well... Maybe its just the dishes I order.

There's a couple of Simply Asia restaurants in our area and even though we always say that we'll go to one, we never actually do. The last time we actually decided to go to one we went to the Spaghetti Grill place next door.

It's tough to pick Asian food when there's places that make steak right next door. :)

One opened up in Pretoria recently.

Not tried tho, they don't sell boerewors and that is a staple diet up here.

speaking of which, what happened to lucky moo?

/Corks gun.

I absolutely love Simply Asia. I've never had a bad experience with their food, even though I agree their portions are a bit tiny. We have it about once a month.

I don't see why people are calling them scam artists though. Vote with your wallet if they are too pricey.

depends on the owner.. the Clearwater one is rubbish, the north cliff is proper and the portions are pretty good

+1

Prices not too bad and way better than eating at  Spur for example.

The littlest one has the Chicken Satay and those Corn Fritter things

The older ones eat what the adults eat.
