Please help I need to connect to two networks simultaneously:
The set up is as follows : My imac hosts a database over a vpn connected via Ethernet to adsl router 1 :

I have now installed a second ADSL line which terminates on a AEBS to supply internet to all the household machines :

My problem is I cannot get the imac to use both at the same time as soon as i open the wifi connection on the imac the ethernet stops sending data out ( Currently airport is top of the list, I have tried with ethernet at top )

I am sure this is possible ???? HOW do i set my network config up ??

Router 1 is 192.168.10.1
Router 2 is 192.168.1.1 AEBS bridge for all DHCP functions etc

Thanx Stuboy

You have to understand that you can only have one default gateway. When you enable the airport, it gets a new IP and default gateway from the DHCP server, and overwrites whatever you have on the wired connection. Even if you have a gateway set up for the wired connection, it will still take a backseat to the default.

So you need to create a static route for your VPN network, so that traffic for it will always leave through the lan (en0, I think).

Thanx for the input and en0 is the correct route , can you give a little help with the static route set up . I'll do a bit of google searching now but I am sure this is what is missing !

Thx Stuboy

Sadly my Mac got nicked, so I cannot check the exact syntax for you. Read this page - should be everything you need.
