Hi

Sentech used to be (2months ago) uncapped on some of their services, now I hear it is capped.

That true?

I asked Sentech via e-mail but no reply...

Do any of you guys know?

Hi Gora

They are scrapping their 'high cap' classic packages. They promised to call all classic subscribers this week, but no feedback from them yet...

Regards,

RPM

Sentech's MyWireless products have always been "capped"* ..but for a different meaning of capped than, say, itBust ;) and our local version of The Great Satan. The outgoing policy has been pretty much to let you keep doing your thing and, VERY much depending on how (much) and when (in the month) you exceeded the allocation would generally do nothing ..and it's this that gave you the impression of not being capped.

*rpm is right in that the golden days of the monster caps (40gig for ~R1350 @ 512k(ish) speeds) are now on the way out  but it remains that when you DO reach your allocation you don't end up having the data pipe slammed shut on you, you just end up paying per meg for subsequent usage.

I think you might have just heard that the uncapped accounts are gone, and now all accounts will have a true cap.

So you guys havent been phoned yet? Anyone?

maby it means they're thinking about what to do with you...

bdt's got it right. The "caps" have always been there, they were just soft caps or recommended usage allowences as they put it. It all ties up with their acceptable usage policy. There was a big thing on the forum a couple of months ago where all the users who exceeded these were warned not to do so anymore but nothing came of it afaik. Looks like they will be implementing them from now on from what I heard. Won't sit well with everyone if the last thread about this then is anything to go by.
