Sinotec

The 47" Sinotec is R9499 at game now. Going to purchase it tonight. Only issue is getting the monster home. I have a RunX. Will it fit if I put the back seats down? Otherwise, does anyone here know how much Game charges for delivery?

Game rip you off BIG time with delivery.

A monster like that won't fit in the RunX.

Get someone you know to take you in their bakkie? Much cheaper.

its all fun and games until you gotta get the baby home :D
i remember with my 42'' it just fitted in my moms Polo Classic. 47'' you gonna need some help

A friend says delivery is only around R150 which is cheap but I doubt it's that low. As long as it's not to far north of R300 I dont mind paying.

Now I need to put my 32" Samsung up for sale :)

Well I managed to squeeze the 42" (still in box) into my Corsa :p

Makro did however score another few bucks on the bungee cords I needed to buy :D

i'd say get a bakkie though.....47" is quite bigger :erm:

i bought a 40" samsung and the box fitted in my runx with back seats down. i think 47" is gonna be a big maybe. maybe if you put it in diagonally, MAYBE.

Just got back from Canal Walk Game. The 47" Sinotech Full HD for R9499 looks great. It was next to a Samsung 46" Full HD which was also on special for R16999. The picture quality was similar on both. They both had the Mnet HD channel playing. The matt black edging of the Sinotech doesn't look cheapish either. Will only get the TV on Saturday when they deliver it though and it only costs R147 to deliver. Not bad :)

As big as the 47" maybe you should fit it into the RunX with seats down.Try a dry run with an empty box.I remember putting a 72"inch crt with stand plus DVD recorder into my wife's Run X with no problem with seats down.

I have open up a few.
On 1 tv[hitec I think] , saw it was a samsung module. Then contacted samsung for a service manual.
They told me very old card , no spare, no stock.

The old tv's can still be fix.
Plasma, replace module. if you get one.
Lcd, mostly power supply or backlight.

If the prize is good, keep that slip and enjoy and hope.

a friend has a samsung 50inch plasma. tuner died last week. tuner module=R5000.[samsung prize] just out of guarantee.
Fix it or buy new tv?

The problem is the length of the packaging. The width and height are ok. Will try squeezing it in first. I'll probably have to drive with my chest up against the steering wheel if it does fit :)

LCD is now sitting in my car :) Had to take it out of the box to get it to fit. Just waiting for a friend to help get it up to my flat. \o/

Ok, so I've connected the LCD but there are some scaling issues. With HDMI, there is some overscan going on which I've tried to disable in the ATI catalyst control centre but text is still slightly blurry. With VGA, I can't set a resolution higher than 1440x900. Though the 1440x900 upscaled to full screen with the VGA connection actually looks clearer than when I used the HDMI at 1920x1080... Does anyone know how to sort out the scaling issues?

Sorted out the scaling issues. I just need to let the PC boot before switching the source in order to keep 1:1 pixel mapping.

Text is as crisp as it gets for a 47" screen. No blurriness, I sit about 2m away and don't notice any pixels. Games are looking awesome! Tested Farcry2, GTAIV, Burnout Paradise, COD4&5, Mass Effect, Overlord. Games look way better than stuff I've seen at friends places played on the PS3! PC gaming ftw!
