SIP account + data bundle Vs traditional calls

Hi Guys

I'm currently spending about R300 in prepaid airtime p/m and I need to restructure this.
This is a business phone so data and peak calls are where my expenses arise

Would you guys recommend that I get a 2GB p/m data only contract from CellC and then use a SIP account on my cell phone to make calls to other networks? This works out to about R83 p/m excluding the SIP call charges which should be much less than normal call rates.

What you think? Which phone would you recommend for a SIP account? I currently have a Nokia 5800

Think this is an AWESOME idea however been battling for months to get an app for my android phone that supports g729 codec starting to pull my hairout lol anyone got any ideas @headstrong i would go with any 3g android phone and get sipdroid app they supports alot of codecs (just not mine :|) be sure to check with your sip provider on codec requirements

any ideas out there guys?>
