Skype installing itself?

It's just a set of scripts you run, so there's no runtime component to notice anything. You just have to download latest version and run the scripts in powershell again.
I stopped using it because it didn't do enough. I disable a lot of services after each major update and then run my accumulated scripts to get rid of everything.
.

I thought as much. I was going to have glance at the scripts when I got home and run them on my moms windows laptop. I am sure I can do this for her once her updates run.

I solved this problem by migrating to Linux.

Thumbs up. I run a second setup with Ubuntu 18.4.

If you're interested in which services to axe, take a look at the Blackviper site. It all still applies to the latest build. Since she's on a laptop, the hacks we're discussing help significantly with responsiveness.

Are you guys using Skype Desktop(or even skype classic) or Skype Win10 ?

The Skype Win10 version is a crock of sht and it is the default version used with Win10.

I've heard that too. But since I've no camera or microphone attached, it's just preloaded junk to me.

Kinda no way around using Office 365 unless you log into said account in Excel so there goes that idea. As for Syncing I did not have Skype on any PC whatsoever.
So it is Office 365 'promo' campain. They are ditching Skype for Business, trying to go back to basis. .LOL.

Stop using Office 365.

Stop using Office 365.

I would the day that Linux community or anyone else make something that can come close to Excel.

Dont even try to tell me that kinder-garden app aka Libreoffice or such are viable. Sure they can work for simple tasks once you start using VB advance features none of them can touch it.

I have heard similar opinion years ago when Lotus 123 was 10 times better than Excell and was used by all my colleagues for engineering calculations, some very complicated requiring many hours to complete.

Years passed... I can't disagree.
