Skype on the iphone

can skype be loaded onto the iphone 4. if this possible what is the cost when only speaking on the phone, like voip.

Skype has launched Version 2.0.1 of its voice-over-IP software for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS handsets running iOS 4.I can only imagine that this would be bandwith intensive , make sure you have a big enough bundle to compensate.

Jailbreak and you can use it on 3G forever

When we overseas in the UK recently, we used Skype on my wife's iPhone over 3G without any issues. Not jailbroken or anything, it just worked.

I hope you used a local sim in the iPhone in UK as data ranges at R100/mb+ .... so would hope you didn't do data roaming

Oh definitely, bought a O2 prepaid sim over there. No way I'd attempt such a feat on roaming!

How much did it end up costing you, though? Did you have to buy databundles, or do they still have an unlimited type package?

The O2 Simplicity Sim gives you 500mb data when you buy 10 pounds airtime.
Very useful when you have an iPhone.

Yup, like smtgra011 said. It was super simple to get it, no RICA or anything, you insert the sim and everything just works.
