Skyrim

If anyone hasn't tried out a sneaky character, just do it! So much of fun. Feels like this game was made to be played in stealth mode sneaking up behind people and slicing their throats. I've finished the main quest and Companions quest with a pure sword and shield warrior. Also played a pure mage and finished the College of Winterhold quests. Played a pure archer for a bit as well. Now I'm finally trying out a sneaky orc character.

Really fun hiding in the shadows and creeping up on draugr when they're no looking. Also went straight to shearpoint when I started the game and and got the "throw voice" word of power. There was no dragon there, just the dragon priest, Krosis. So I just grabbed the word and jumped from the cliff running for my life from Krosis. The throw voice power works really well to set up backstabs. I also use muffle constantly and "calm" once in a while.

100%, I usually go for the heavy armour/longsword combo in these games but this time I rolled a sneaky and what fun! There is something very satisfying about one-shotting restless draugrs that used to kick the everloving out of me before...

You should have killed Krosis, he has damn nice mask for sneaky characters. Fortify Lockpicking, Archery and Alchemy 20%.

He isn't easy to get down though :p

Stuff that, sneaky is for the weak, just go activate the ritual stone east of Whiterun and become full Necro.

It gives you the ability to re-animates all dead bodies around the caster, and you can make a full army with them. I have about 11+ souls in my army now.... only one small problem, they kill anything that is hostile towards me, ie: can not control what they attack, but they basically follow me and kill everything without me needing to do anything.

Bleh, I don't even like companions. Helped that Argonian out of some pass this morning and afterwards he could become my follower. I left him at the exit and as I was running away up hill I found myself thinking, "I hope a cave bear eats him."

I want to try out a mage char and I'm thinking of specializing in conjuration (for summoning atronachs and undead) and alteration (mainly for the armor), is this a good combo? Someone wrote that destruction isn't worth it compared to conjuration, any comments?

I currently play a pure mage.
Destruction + Conjuration. I have only used a sword once and that was for the stormcloaks.
I find destruction to be a bit under powered these days. I wish you could still craft spells :-/. So you would probably be better off with a sword and conjuration.

I remember reading a review/preview a little while back saying that a mage was by far the best class to play.... and that melee just felt like a bore. I can't help but feel the exact opposite. I just can't seem to get into my mage character, but hey, that's a good thing right? Enjoyment is found where you like it :)

On a sidenote, is anyone else playing this game in 3D? Using AMD hardware and Tridef? I was using iZ3D and getting decent FPS with everything maxed, swapped to Tridef (3D effect is AWESOMELY great!!) except now I have to play with all my settings on low :( It forces 1080p 30hz btw....

Do you just need the stereoscopic glasses? Or a special 3d monitor?

I found this article which listed 11 different classes for Skyrim...rather interesting I must admit!

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Archetypes

Warrior
Mage
Archer
Warlock
Berserker
Spellsword
Necromancer
Assassin
Battlemage
Weaponmaster
Rogue

How do I run/dash in the game? Apparently there is a special way to run (and i'm not talking about the default mode) which most players dont know about?

I like playing solo. Probably have put in over 70 hours and have never used a companion, horse or summons.

Ye, I know he drops a cool mask. Had real trouble beating him with my sword and shield warrior in full legendary daedric armour on my previous playthrough though. So I don't think my lvl3 orc with steel swords and leather armour would have stood a chance :)

The throw voice shout is too cool. Just shout and watch the bandit/draugr/enemy go to the spot looking for you. Then creep out from the shadows, backstab and run back into the shadows while their friends search for you and give up. Sometimes they start fighting each other too since they think one of them is the killer!

Cool guide, I have a feeling I am gonna re-roll soon, started off as a mage but that class truly sucks, you mostly run away turn and shoot, run away. Then started leveling Necro skills, but now I have wasted points as a mage. :(

Edit: They missed no 12. Vampire, still looking for someone to bite me

It's "Alt" on the PC version.

Yeah I didn't know you could sprint until I saw it on a vid on youtube :D
Another thing that took me ages to find out was that you could number your "Favourited" weapons on the PC. Then instead of hitting 'Q' and selecting, you just hit the number....

Tab Magic Powers

There should be a beast form in white text. Select it, then press Z (or the same button to use shouts) when back ingame
