Skyrim

As the game runs through steam (yay), do you need a constant internet connection to play?
If I buy it I will be playing in an area that has no connection, will this be possible?

Steam only requires a connection to install the game and basically make sure that you own it by loggin in at least once. After the first login, you can select 'offline mode' which then will allow you play your game without an internet connection.

If you want to, you can even install steam on a different pc, download the game, then back it up and reinstall it onto another pc. Then after logging in at least once on that pc you can carry on playing.

Ok cool, thanks for the info, thats good to hear!

Only played for a bit but it seems very good. One thing I miss a lot is the fantasy aspect which was in morrowind; in Oblivion and Skyrim the game is quite similar to real world.

Steam servers did not validate my install and started to download the game. It seems like there is a bug with CD installation.

I browsed the web and got this answer for those with the same problem.

Pause the download, delete local content and run the disc installer again. the whole game is on disc and it will be way faster.

go to library on steam. right click on the downloading skyrim
pause download
right click again and choose delete local content ( ull get a warning)
run disc installer and watch the speed pick up!

Yeah I guess the human cat/lizards and dragons and magic aren't fantasy enuf :)

That sounds kinda silly. most fantasy novels are more realistic when it comes to environments
but what sets elder scrolls apart is that you are in the novel and you go adventuring. Look for a new player they will really be adventuring cos they gonna try to figure out how to mix potions etc.

Just finished the main story line... it was pretty entertaining. Killing dragons is fun!

I had to finish it as I would have thought of nothing else while at work on Monday.

Excuse my crude sense of humor but lol @ the first shout learned! It was exactly what I wanted to tell that annoying elf. :)

Currently level 30, hardly touched the main story, loving everything so far!

Restarted for the umpteenth time to get my character looking just right, can now actually start playing.
