ok, so i am a skytec user and in terms of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. 2002, chapter 8 section 51 sub section 1 and 2 (and sub section 6 in terms of the broadband data base), no matter what i say...my personal information cannot be used what so ever without my consent (and i do not give any consent), so here goes......
i have been a skytec user for a long time now, and yes......skytec customer service needs an upgrade, and yes.....skytec are some times like a jack in the box where they are up and down, but most of the time they are up and running fine. if i run downloads at full capacity for 24 hrs, on their slowest line i get over 1GB....yeah.....OVER 1GB per day at full capacity. sure, the gaming on skytec is pretty slow, but considering what u pay for.....R350 a month uncapped, and hell....i even got traffic reports (which i monitor) for an entire month, but i will not release actual GB's downloaded as then skytec can get a general idea of who i am (not like i can hide who i am from this post anyway lol).
my opinion....skytec need to in deed set up a forum for complaints, jack up customer service (which would be my biggest complaint), but honestly......i cant really complain about them. when you look at it statistically.....telkom have hundreds of thousands of customers.....and i can just imagine the complaints they must receive, i have heard of complaints of people waiting for several weeks for their line to get up and running again with telkom, the only reason why everyone thrashes skytec is because they might have a couple hundred people, and receive maybe 1/3 complaints (as toti is a small area so everyone talks), but travel across the country and find all of telkoms complaints and then see it's just as bad. no one is perfect, but yes.....certain issues have to be addressed (ie: customer service).
so...my opinon....if you dont have skytec dont complain...stick with your 3GB cap with telkom for a couple hundred rand a month and leave us to use our 1GB+ line per day in peace, and if you have skytec, then sure, voice your concerns here and bring it to management's attention, and request for a skytec forum to broadcast you complaints.
telkom have been running for years, and they still got issues so you cant complain that much. i know some of you that have posted in this thread, and i have not mentioned any names so i request the same from everyone else
