Anyone have an idea of how to load a version of Netflix that actually works? In tried all of the them listed on on this site's up to May... Would appreciate. Thanks

Yes, i changed the source code to disable the check for netflix certification. They have somehow patched that about two months after that. My guess is that they check the mac or prop.build. To change either you need to root the box or just ...give up, pay 500 bucks more and have a MI box without any of the issues.

Thanks for reply... That sucks... The box was bargain though for just over R400 on fnb ebucks, but without Netflix makes it lose value. I'm not for the rooting option, dnt want to mess with warranty, will wait until they one day decide to have it certified. Cheers
 
I saw the Skyworth Binge Android TV box on the shelf at Makro yesterday for R899. So this is finally on the shelves at brick and mortar shops and not just for sale at Takealot.

maybe distribution changed, maybe they always redistributed the product? Don't know. The rep will be able to indicate where the Binge TV is being sold.

The Shop and Ship website does state,

Shop and Ship is fully authorised to sell Skyworth products. The Skyworth Binge Android TV Box is sourced via the authorised channel in South Africa.

maybe they have engaged with more sellers. I would like to know where the product is stocked.
 
Hi guys. So i have downloaded Netflix, showbox and TeaTV. All of them down loaded and after it installed i was able to open the apps and use them. However when i go look for the apps, i can only find TeaTV. Netflix and Showbox do not show. I can open these apps through the apps tab in the settings but the apps do not show in my main apps. I dont want to have to go into setting each time i want to open these apps. Could someone assist me here?
 
Those "missing" apps are probably not TV apps, so they won't show on the main menu.
Install TV app repo.
Use this tool to get the non TV apps to appear in the menu.

Where did you get the Netflix app? Is it working?

I downloaded the Netflix app from the store and its not working.

That's because it isn't Netflix approved.

It'll be in the store and you can download it - but won't work.
