Afternoon all :)

So a mate of mine has got into a spot of trouble for sleeping on the job. He disappeared for an hour and was found in the toilet taking a nap.
He says he was sleeping on his lunch break and that will be good enough to get him out of trouble but asked that I try figure out a good defense as to what happened. His boss has given him until 9am tomorrow to explain or he will start disciplinary measures with HR.

Being the good friend that am, I knew there was no better place to get a rock-solid defense by myBB :)

Diabetes. It worked for that Icasa dude. I forget his name now :D

Paris something? Damn now this will bug me till I remember.

/edit

Ah thanks Google. Was Paris Mashile :D

He had the runs and was unable to get off the toilet due to the cramps and involuntary bowel movements :wtf:

He was caught, eyes closed and snoring :D with the toilet lid closed so doubt the "runs" excuse could work. Will let him know about Diabetes, good one ;)

How did they find out? Did he doze off with an open door?

Lots of the guys here go take naps in their cars in the basement :)

Seems you make a habit of this?

If he gets a lunch break and slept during that time period, i don't see the problem. It is a bit unprofessional though - but not serious enough to warrant getting fired. A disciplinary might be appropriate.

I would have slept in my car - the toilet seems a terrible place to take a nap.

A guy where I worked once was caught sleeping by management. And when they tried to discipline him he claimed to have been praying and got off.

He should have thought quicker! When somebody woke him up he should have lifted his head and said "In Jesus Name, Amen!"

Lmao - I really don't think theres anything they can do during lunch - its his time

I mean seriously what the complaint? "YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN EATING"

Yeah, but what if he was hogging the only toilet they had and some poor fellow employee had a terrible case of the squirts and let go in front of the toilet door? :D

Maybe they can charge him with abuse of company property :D
