Slender Wonder Programme

Just eat right, exercise... And set a goal and measure your progress weekly. You should not lose more than 1 to 2 pounds a week... 3500 to 7000 calories a week....

As much as people say shakes and stuff don't work i don't completely agree..

In the past i never used to each breakfast and i never had a regular lunch(sometimes i ate lunch other times not) so i only really used to eat a big supper, and then after supper before bed i would eat other **** because i had not eaten the whole day(could and still can eat a whole bag of lays etc).

I have started to use a meal replacement to replace my no eating with something, so at least my metabolism starts off in the morning when it should! I am at the moment using it twice a day and for the past month i have used it twice a day, mostly breakfast and lunch and then i had a normal supper. If i went out for lunch i would have the shake for supper. I have been tracking my progress which i believe is quite healthy and sustainable until i reach my target weight.

When i started i weighed 83.5KG, my target weight is 70KG to 72KG(my weight from 3 years ago), below is my weight at the end of the week(Sunday to Sunday), once i reach my target i will reduce my meal replacement to once a day and rather eat two meals.
Week 0 - 83.5
Week 1 - 82
Week 2 - 80.2
Week 3 - 79.6
Week 4 - 78.3
Week 5 - 78.2 (Was a bit of a mess of a week had a lot of family over etc so it didn't go as planned, but i didn't gain any weight so overall its just an extra week that ill have to put in to get to my target)

In the 5 weeks ive been on the stuff ive lost 5.3KGs and that's not really from eating less, its from having a consistent meal 3 times a day(i have reduced my supper size sort of) but other than that i will still eat a roll of sweets if i feel like it, and i wont eat a whole bag of chips anymore rather a bowl etc! I do not do any exercise (which i am in the process of trying to change to at least once a week).

Anyhow i thought i would just share my experience and thoughts with you guys..

@PYNET goodluck but i dont believe that the program you have brought into will work.. If you are not eating properly (regularly) 1st try change that, then try reduce the amount you eat. Then try add a little exercise and you will get down to your weight but what you are trying to do now WILL NOT works, you cannot lose more than 1 to 1.5KG per weeks and expect to keep you body that way you will pile it all back on.

Freaksta, any meal replacement is really only a "poor substitute" for real food.

You would have had even better results had you chosen to eat oats, eggs, etc and eat real food.

The shaked however are extremely convenient and save time and hassle.

Your progress is good, just make sure you let your body think you are not starving it - so you don't slow you metabolism down too much.

With respect, if it was so simple, everyone would be thin... Luckily it isn't your money that we're "wasting".

Nope, it is very simple to lose weight, but hard work and most people are just too lazy. With that hard work you will also adapt to a new lifestyle and will keep the fat off for longer instead of an easy solution where I can guarantee you, you will gain the weight again.

The internet is a great source to get all the information you need to make a healthy lifestyle change without paying absurd amounts to dietitians and other "experts".

MY girlfriend is goign on these "bootcamp" sessions. its 3 times a week and some hardcore exercise, results are good..and certainly more healthy than some diets with injections..

go check it out

Sorry for asking, but was this your girlfriends idea ?

My gf always had a nice body and never exercised, but now she is starting to gain weight. She told me on Sunday that maybe she needs to start exercising with me to lose some of the extra kg's. I told her she is welcome, but really I want her to start doing exercise as I don't want her to get fat, but don't know how to tell her :p

Sorry if it sounds mean/shallow.

It was her idea, but i know exactly what you mean. I think it started because i put on a little weight recently, i said to her at the time, that if i put on weight it bothers me because it shows i no longer want to look good for her.

I think that got her thinking about things, and the fact that i was out training and getting enjoyment out of exercise, she thought she might give it a go.

Bootcamp is such a good idea, and most girls who try it love it. I have noticed a massive difference in my g/f with it!
If you want info let me know, i will pm you the details. They have classes pretty much everywhere, you go 3 times a week. If she can get a friend to do it with her, it really makes it that much better!

The "Slender Wonder" diet is a bloody sham.

They give you Leptin injections daily.... (well, not leptin directly, but the idea is to increase Leptin levels).

If you are overweight you will already have high levels of Leptin. You are more likely to be Leptin resistant. So making even more Leptin, is actually going to increase your resistance. ....

Want me to sell you some snake oil?

If you need help losing weight it does help to rather join Weight Watchers for instance. No injections or expensive pills or other crap. They basically help you eat less and healthier. Dieting for Dummies in other words. I joined and lost 10 kgs but it took me 15 weeks which is the healthy way to go I think.

I totally agree with you, its not a good substitute but im pretty sure its better than nothing, at least im getting some milk and water and what ever else my body can absorb from the shake. The reason i use it is as you said its convenient, it takes me 1minute in the morning to make my breakfast and lunch and all i ever need is some ice and milk. To often im in a rush to eat a bowl of cereal or the like. As i said once i get down to my target weight i am going to try and get back onto real food!

Im not sure if you've had an experience with the shake but its the ultima one(1). It says its got everything a meal should have and its only clocks in at 900kj per meal so yea. The one thing i can say is that it does keep me full from breakfast till lunch and lunch till supper, so i dont think my body thinks im starving myself! Time will only tell. BTW its not to expensive, one can lasts me about 1 week @ R125 (14meals)..

What I was saying is it is at best a "poor replacement" - in other words, it is not as good as real food, you know nothing artificial. I can gaurantee you get the same amount of carbs / fat / protein / etc from real food - you will see greater benefits.

But I use a shake myself every morning because I am too bloody lazy to make a real breakfast.

OK, so after alot of research I have decided to go ahead the Slender wonder programme, I just got back from my 1st consult and quite excited to get going.

For all those commeneted above the slender wonder diet programme is based on a low GI diet but includes various additional supplements as well as a daily injection to ensure everything is healthy and your body gets what it needs.
The injection is an HCG fluid which is used to targets the unwanted fat, so in essence you only loose the 'dead fat' not the healthy fat.

I have been researching this programme over the past couple months and after reading many forum only found 2 negative views on this programme (both being more about the Dr then the actuall programme).

The programme says if I stick to the diet plan and take the supplements, I will loose between 8- 15kg in the 1st month. I am currently 92kg and need to between 80 - 85 for my goal weight.

Been to gym, done many diet's never got any real results, however I am very optimistic on this programme.

Check it out, tell me what you think. I will keep you'z updated as i go along.

Here is a link to an American review of diets including Slender Wonder diet. http://www.dietspotlight.com/slender-wonder-review/ It is not HCG that you are getting. It is leptin. The diet works because you eat about 500 calories a day. The content of the suppliments are exceptionally low - Omega 3/6 has a mere 74mg of EPA compared to the omega 3/6 of "the real thing" which contains 800mg.

"Most of the supplements contain diuretics and laxatives, including the fat burners. There are no stimulants in any of the supplements so metabolism will not increase without exercise. With two designated cleansing supplements and cleansing ingredients like bladderwrack and liquorice root in the fat burner, weight loss is likely associated with water loss and increased bowel movements."

Rather than go on a diet, make a commitment to understand a little about the food you eat and take the time to nurture your body with the right food. Read some books like the blood group diets and work out what works for your body. Look at Body for Life, and the book "Get with the program". This is written by people who do not just diet, but people with incredible bodies and health. I've just lost 20kg in 2,5 months this way. I am not starving. I am not just "filling up" on low quality or horrible tasting food. It was worth the ah-ha moment.

Sooo Pynet. Did it work?

BTW I did a bit of a calculation, and the R2500 is prob what i spend on junk food etc a month anyways, with the diet I obviously cannot eat those, so its a much of a much.
Oh i have to go shopping for healthy food, so prob am spending a bit more, but its worth it.

Well I'd think his/her weight problem was due to the R2500 spent on junk food a month, so if he/she spent the R2500 a month on fad diets instead it would have worked simply because there would be no more money for junk food!

Hi

Has anyone been on the Slender Wonder diet programme?

It is a bit expensive but been reading the reviews on various forums and evryone seems to be loosing ALOT of weight with this?

Any ideas?
Try my secret diet. It's free and the same menu.
You buy a starter kit diet in a box.
No funny starving tips, just portion control.

I am amazed to see so many people having such authoritative views on something they clearly have very limited (if any) knowledge or experience. Hope some of them will remenber the old adage "Rather keep quiet and be thought a fool than open your mouth and removeall doubt"

Its prob healthier to just follow a balanced diet rather than injecting substances.Pls keep us updated on your progress.
