Hi

It is a bit expensive but been reading the reviews on various forums and evryone seems to be loosing ALOT of weight with this?

Any ideas?

Only way to lose weight is to eat right and exercise.

Crash diets/pills/shakes etc don't work!

Mom dies after crash diet

A mother collapsed and died at work after subjecting herself to a crash diet in an effort to look good on a family holiday.

Lucy Prince, 36, lost 20lb (about 9 kilograms) in a month by replacing meals with slimming drinks and exercising heavily in preparation for a break with her daughter.

But her heart stopped at work and she collapsed in front of her manager at a car factory.

She died in hospital having never regained consciousness. An inquest heard that Miss Prince weighed 16st 2lbs in June this year but was only 14st 8lbs when she collapsed in June.

She also suffered from low blood pressure and her potassium levels had dropped dangerously low after the diet.

She had an inflamed heart which, combined with low potassium levels, caused her collapse according to a post-mortem examination. Miss Prince’s stepmother, Lesley Prince, told the inquest that the manager who witnessed the collapse, at Toyota’s plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire, said it came without warning.

She said: “Apparently, they were having a normal work conversation when Lucy’s eyes rolled back and she dropped to the floor.

“She never said she had been unwell at all, she had been laughing and joking.

“I was at work and got a phone call from my husband saying we needed to phone Lucy at work.”

Miss Prince’s 14-year-old daughter had been at an army camp and had suffered ill health herself and been taken to hospital, her stepmother explained. “When I was told Lucy had collapsed, I thought it was because she had got the news that her daughter was poorly as well.”

Louise Pinder, deputy coroner for Derby and South Derbyshire, said: “Miss Prince had been dieting, exercising heavily and replacing meals with diet shakes close to her collapse.

“But the cause of her low potassium levels remains unclear. There is no definitive explanation. I have been looking to see if there is a direct link between the low potassium level and her myocarditis (heart inflammation) but the existence of both of them is relevant in causing Lucy’s collapse.”

Miss Prince, from Chellaston, Derbyshire, showed signs of scarring in her heart, pathologist Dr David Green, who carried out the post-mortem examination, told the hearing.

He also said that her potassium level, which should have measured between 3.5 and 5, was at 2.4.

But he was unable to say for certain why it was so low. He added: “What is likely is that, for whatever reason, her potassium levels fell to a low level and because her heart was already diseased, it was unable to cope.

“In basic terms, her brain was starved of oxygen because her heart stopped beating. And her heart stopped beating because there was a severe lack of potassium in the blood stream.”

Miss Pinder returned a verdict of death by natural causes. - Daily Mail

Well that is a perfect example of a misleading article though. Nowhere does any doctor actually say its due the diet. In fact the doctors does not even know , she just happened to be dieting when it happened so everyone just assumes. This is exactly like making a headline "World of Warcraft Player kills friend" and then assuming it's due to playing that game.......is everyone still so daft at how the media plays us?

OK, so after alot of research I have decided to go ahead the Slender wonder programme, I just got back from my 1st consult and quite excited to get going.

For all those commeneted above the slender wonder diet programme is based on a low GI diet but includes various additional supplements as well as a daily injection to ensure everything is healthy and your body gets what it needs.
The injection is an HCG fluid which is used to targets the unwanted fat, so in essence you only loose the 'dead fat' not the healthy fat.

I have been researching this programme over the past couple months and after reading many forum only found 2 negative views on this programme (both being more about the Dr then the actuall programme).

The programme says if I stick to the diet plan and take the supplements, I will loose between 8- 15kg in the 1st month. I am currently 92kg and need to between 80 - 85 for my goal weight.

Been to gym, done many diet's never got any real results, however I am very optimistic on this programme.

Check it out, tell me what you think. I will keep you'z updated as i go along.

Well I hardly think that substituting real food with slimming drinks and then exercising "heavily" on top of that could, in any way, be healthy :)

Regardless, the coroner clearly said:
“But the cause of her low potassium levels remains unclear. There is no definitive explanation. I have been looking to see if there is a direct link between the low potassium level and her myocarditis (heart inflammation) but the existence of both of them is relevant in causing Lucy’s collapse.”

Simply put, she had low potassium levels and heart inflammation. Heavy exercise put strain on her heart and somehow I doubt that those charming slimming drinks were a "well-balanced diet." The link could be purely circumstantial, however, it seems more causal than not :)

Well there is 3 programmes, the most with all the supplements is R2500 - for that you get 14 injections, syringes etc, shakes, about 7 bottles of supplements + your consult with the doc. Then they give you a meal plan, 2 week check up again etc.

Small injection you give to yourself every morning.

It is a bit expensive, but I am willing to pay the money if it garauntess il loose the weight, been carrying these extra pounds for way too long, just wana get back to shape, look good, feel good again! BTW I did a bit of a calculation, and the R2500 is prob what i spend on junk food etc a month anyways, with the diet I obviously cannot eat those, so its a much of a much.
Oh i have to go shopping for healthy food, so prob am spending a bit more, but its worth it.

Hello. I've been thinking of going on the Slender Wonder program, as I am battling to lose weight, and I was wondering whether you got the results you were hoping for from it? I look forward to hearing from you. :)

With respect, if it was so simple, everyone would be thin... Luckily it isn't your money that we're "wasting".

Sorry WHAT?

Are you absolutely bat**** insane?

You think you can "safely" lose 8 - 15kg in the first month?

that is 72000 to 135000 calories worth of FAT.

To put that into perspective. The average adult male (which I assume you are - who weighs 92kg (your current weight and who has an average or above average body fat percentage and assuming you are somewhere between 20 and 30 years old) - and considering that you are going to excercise moderately 3 days a week (eg, brisk walk / cycle / jog / swin for 30 mins) would have about a 3000 calorie a day energy requirement just to stay at the same weight.

Sorry for the long sentence.

in short, you will need to eat 3000 calories a day, if you wish to lose absolutely no weight.
Now, you want to in 31 days (giving you the benefit of the doubt with a long month) - want to lose 72000 to 135000 calories worth of FAT.

So - 31 * 3000 = 93000 calories.

So in essense you are saying, you plan to either eat absolutely nothing for a whole month (kiss your metabolism goodbye) - or you plan to eat 2000 calories a day, and burn 2000 calories from excercise? (the reduced calorie consumption will come from your metabolism speeding up due to extra exercise).

To burn 2000 calories, you will have to spend approximately 2 odd hours doing cycling at high intensity. and hour and a half of running.

Can you do that 31 days in a row? and not become completely fubar as your body tries to save your starving ass?

The claim is absolute bull**** (and if you have 12 - 15 kg of water weight) it will come back the moment you stop starving the **** out of your body.

No one said it was simple. It's initially quite hard, takes a long time and is essentially a lifestyle change. I've seen a few people succeed but it requires determination, others just give up. There is no quick fix that comes in a bottle.
