hello

which option is better?

this server
◾Processors: 3220, 3230
◾1 X 4MB / 8MB Cache
◾4GB DDR2 533 / 667 ECC RAM
◾Reboot / KVM Over IP
◾5000GB Public Bandwidth
◾Free Inbound Bandwidth
◾Free Private Network Bandwidth
◾1 Public IP Address
◾Wide Choice of Operating Systems

than share it with 4 people (159$/4)

or a vps?

this is because I don't trust the idea of vps and my current reseller hosting is boring me.

Hi PhilaniH,

That server spec is fairly outdated as you can see by the use of DDR2.

A VPS would be a better choice in my own opinion.

What are you planned to do with the server/vps?

I would also go for a VPS.

The problem with sharing a server is that you have no control over what the other people are doing. With a VPS well it's your own private server and you are in control over how much bandwidth is used and over the other resources.

We had problems with our dedicated server since the hard drives were failing so we moved our internet applications to 2 separate virtual private servers and it's been a dream.

thanks. Im planning to host my bunch of sites i practice php with, somethng like 700 domains. I test almost all available plugins and plublish on one magazine. The bandwidth in SA makes me sick. Im gonna try vps.net wth 4 nodes as a start.
