Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone

Heard on the radio the other day they took mice in an experiment and played thist ype of music. The mice could not navigate the maze, they then took classical music and the mice were able to complete the task.
Go onto their website and tell me that is music. It sounds like Satan trying to recruit zombies.
 
If the dude wasn't wearing a mask would slipknot even be blamed

Ag please, sorry but Slipknot was a fart in the wind in this scenario. Everyone knows that you cant blame music, as you cant blame computer games for violence either. The kid did what he did cause hes a crazy ninja psycho :p

IMO slipknot is the worst sounding music every, not only do they look like walking turds but their music is lame, the words carry meaning that only the immature can listen to.

It's not the music that killed the other kid. But Slipknot plays some k@k music period. Only the uneducated will find comfort from their retarded tunes :o

Well I disagree, we are not allowed to hit them and look at the youth. 11yr olds having sex, taking drugs carrying on like trash. clearly the approach of letting them do as they please doesnt work. What is the answer? Tell them no, you are doing things in the incorrect manner, please go sit in the corner? :rolleyes:

I don't know blu... I got the odd good hiding from my ballies (my granny too ... man that old duck could dish it out with a kwepper-lat :) ) and I reckon I turned out just fine. I've never felt it necessary to hit my kids and they've turned out just fine too

No regrets either way... I think it comes down to what type of discipline works. Kids need to learn consequences of their actions and more often than not (IMHO) the parents who spare the rod are way too soft on the discipline side.

I know it is contentious and I know we will agree to disagree :)

To me, if you hit a child, all you do is make him angry and resentful. If you take away some of his rights/privileges, that will make him understand the all-important life lesson that every action has a consequence.

As adults, we do not get physically hit by our bosses or partners (hopefully not!) when we do what they perceive to be the wrong thing, BUT we do suffer some consequences dished out by life in some or other fashion. I think it is important to teach kids THAT lesson from early.

Chlildren must know with a large amount of certainty that, if they do X, the consequence will be Y. That prepares them for life.

+1 I don't hit my daughters and nor does my wife and they are doing just fine thanks, there are other ways to install discipline in your children without turning to beating them.

I think my kids suffered way more losing rights/priviliges and were far more angry and resentful than I was getting a whack across the backside.

Problem is most parents don't enforce the punishment, they're too soft. From what I've seen it's a case of "YOU'RE GROUNDED FOR A MONTH" turning into just a day or two
 
I Donner my kids.

And they are by far, more respectfull and kind than any kids their age. My friend has a 7 year old daughter and asked me how did i get that right. And yes he is the one grounding his kid ;)

I got spanked as a kid, and i turned out more than fine.
I also think i learned discipline through those beatings, even though they werent that bad, thinking back, they did teach me a good lesson. Parents should be allowed to discipline their kids, but they must not cross the line. Kids must know their place and adhere to rules and responsibilites, this will put them in good stead for the future.
 
I am not a fan of slipknot, they have one or two O.K. songs. I heard that they anounced they are not coming to SA because of this incident being blamed on them isnt that a bit unfair on people who are slipknot fans. I think that sux a bit

They were gonna come to SA? they have that many fans here? I feel more sorry for the adolescents in this country than before.
I think they should just stay in their recording studio as far away from this country as possible, we dont want them here :p them and their ugly f'ed up masks, what are they trying to say or prove?
