Hi, Anyone experiencing slow local/int. speeds? (....slower than normal....)
Since Thur. my ADSL is like dial-up.
I'm on a 4mb line with Telkom Internet.

Yes, slow again today... my 4 Mb ADSL tested at 1.7 Mbps last night

but it feels like dial-up today

What were we paying for again?

Ag no man. My line was activated 3 days ago and I'm still waiting for the modem. And now you guys tell me "slower than dialup".

Same here ( KZN ). At one stage i even did a firmware roll-back on my router...thought it was something on my side, but it seems like a f'n Telkom issue again
They ( Telkom ) always has the excuse that they're "upgrading"...wonder from what....4mb to 4mb...then another upgrade from 4mb to 4mb
..or maby they're upgrading from 4mb to 3mb...then another upgrade from 3mb to 2mb...then a HUGE upgrade from 2mb to 128kb

I have just noticed a major speed increase when disabling "dsl-cache.saix.net"...Seems there is a prob with the Proxy...

I had this problem and saw that my sync rate had dropped a lot (from 4096 to 1024). So I phone Telkom, and after the mandatory 2-hour hold period, was lucky enough to get through to someone with something that half-resembled a brain who sorted it out at his end (and didn't tell me he was "resetting my port").

Since then, my ADSL has been perfect.

Log in to your modem, it should be there somewhere.

You are looking for something like Upstream & downstream rate. what kinda modem you got?
