Slow Google Mail access on Afrihost

Anyone else having excruciatingly slow access to Google Mail today? Lots of timeouts and slow loading going on. I'm on Afrihost. Other Google services like search seem to be unaffected.

Restart your ADSL modem.

Other users reported that many sites didn't work, amongst which like Nedbank Internet Banking: https://netbank.nedsecure.co.za/
and then after he restarted his modem everything worked again...

They could perhaps be busy switching over to MTN now.

The MTN switchover is not happening anytime soon, we still have loads of testing and configuring to do.

We went transfer any account over to them until I have had a chance to nail some significant bandwidth on the network

It may be related to the issues IS were having on HTTPS that affected internet banking etc.

Doesn't Afrihost still route google traffic to the international servers? I remember when on Afrihost google services would have normal international latency response times.
