I've been experiencing very slow upload speeds (16 Kb/sec) for a couple of weeks in Cape Town (southern suburbs), except in the middle of the night to very early morning. Anyone else having the same problem?

I've been seeing the same, makes Skype almost unusable, seems to have started with the new year, see here.

Can't say i've experienced any slow speeds. This morning and this past week been getting over 2mb uploads and 6mb down during the day. Using white 2gb speedstick.

I am also experiencing slow upload speeds, since early Jan and now random signal loss to around Durbanville!

Uploads still only 16 kB/sec (125 kbps / 0.13 Mbps) during the day. Only time I can get decent upload speeds is in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping.

Thanks Guys

The team is already looking at the first areas, but also note - we have an MPLS issue on the Fiber link coming in to Joburg, estimated time to resolution is 2AM. Seems to be caused by an intermittent Fiber Repeater on the link. I think this will partly correct the speed issue but my teams will drive test the areas and also conduct site visits on the Cell Sites serving those areas.

Will keep you updated

Does this explain the terrible throughput issues from about 21:40 last night?

These abysmal upload speeds have now become very irritating. I basically NEVER get better than 16 kB/sec (128 kbps) during the day and evening (from 7 am to midnight). Skype is impossible to use. Been like this since December.

VERY slow upload speeds (0.13 Mbps) in Cape Town.

Areas affected that I know of: Plumstead, Durbanville. Maybe also Stellenbosch, Goodwood and Edgemead.

Connection is Durbanville is terrible! I connect no problem, with good signal strength, but there is not traffic! I can't even get the Google or Cell C homepage! I have to use another internet connection to post this :(

Well, suddenly the download speed is fine again - I wonder if it is due to less people being online? My D/L speed was around 1.8Mbit... upload 0.1Mbit.

Speed has been intermittent the last couple of days with lots of disconnects. Upload speed never more than 125 kbps
