Slowly dying. Need a change.

Maybe its the people around you, drop the negative people / job / colleagues and start to thrive ?

Positive experience create a positive mind.

Depends which country. . .
For instance, in Japan you can earn anywhere from 260,000- 320,000. . .and with the cost of living you can be left with just under half your salary left. . .
All you need is a Degree in order to get a working visa,(doesn't matter what) plus it helps to net a job easier.
(The Degree is just so you can get the working visa that's why they have it as a requirment. . .)

But you don't even need the Degree or any other Certificate to teach English, as long as you are a native speaker you can get the job. . .so if you can get something like a working holiday visa or similar then you can still work as a teacher there. . .

And on a upside there is virtually no crime there.

And of course these....

before you make any changes... maybe you should find peace within yourself first.

Tera,

pack your bags, resign and move to where you think you'll find happiness. Start over from scratch. Maybe this will work maybe it won't. But you won't know till you try. To me it just sounds like you need to meet more people and get a social life going. You're suffering from cabin fever due to you being in seclusion and removing everyone from your life. Join a social club and or some sport of sorts. Sounds to me like you just need to socialise more. That would be the cheapest and easiest start. Damn if you stayed in Pretoria I would have loved to meet and social with you, introduce you to my friends and so on.

Agree with this. My advice would be to either get a pet or start getting involved with some kind of animal sanctuary. Animals don't judge tera, and they can go a long way towards changing the way you live your life.

I don't really like posting in these kind of threads, I'm not a very empathic person, but out of curiosity are you getting some exercise like hikes or bike rides on weekends?

I found that when I do not vary my activities and take a break from the day to day stuff I tend to get agitated and depressed after a while. So I try and exercise.

Another thing I noticed for myself is diet, certain foods tend to make me feel better than other types.

Why don't you have a good bunch of friends where you live currently?

I doubt moving to a new place will secure a great social life for you with quality friends if that's evaded you in your current place of residence...?

I think a lot of us feel the same way, but I think some people are better at handling it than others. A suggestion that seems to work for me: Try go away more often. Maybe 3 times a year. It gives you something to look forward to. It doesn't have to cost much and doesn't have to be far away. What I find really helps is when going away try make an active theme for the trip "Surfing in Muizenberg", "Volunteering on a horse farm" stuff like that. It makes you feel a lot more interesting and gives you a lot to talk about to other people.

When you observe and try to change the outside, you are dreaming. It is only when you look inside and change that, that you truly wake.

I am located exactly where I have been for how long I have. Concerning my mental health. I was diagnosed with certain mental blocks which has subsequently been proved to be the cause of severe sleep apnea, or rather extreme lack of oxygen to my brain. My psychiatrist and I have a very good relationship thank you very much.

Thanks for the judgment and target practice. Appreciate it. But I guess I was the cause? Right?

Doesn't sound like it. He probably likes the relationship 'cos you pay him every month. What are you getting out of it?

You are obviously depressed and that is making you paranoid. If you are on meds, it isn't helping. If you are NOT on meds, your headshrinker isn't helping.

Also the whole mental block sleep apnoea thing: Did the apnoea cause the brain damage ( lack of oxygen ) or did the "mental blocks" cause the apnoea?

Normally sleep apnoea causes lack of oxygen, which can cause brain damage, so your explanation is unclear.

Thanks for the kind words Pitbull.

I approached the thread wrong and I apologize.
Most of you are correct in some way, but so am I. I am sincerely just thinking out loud with this thread and not making any harsh decisions.
I know I am being judged. I am a weird person with a weird personality with a weird sense of humour and lifestyle.

I know my family isn't there for me, probably because they don't know how to be.
I am not trying to run away and downsize. I actually don't like small towns where you sit and get bored because you have nothing to do. I spent years living that way in my early 20's.

I find it difficult making friends I guess not due to being paranoid which is a relative term, but rather because I am too focussed on myself and not others, which I never used to be like before becoming ill.

So I guess what I realised today after reading the comments and thinking alot. I need to have eyes that see and ears that hear. I need to step out of the delusion and actually live. I am thankful for what I have and thank God for it. I don't want to bring His Grace that He bestowed on my life down to ungratefulness, because I've had a tough couple of months.

Thanks.

Edit: paragraphs are due to Tapatalk on my phone, not sure why it parses like this sometimes..

Pretty sure we all go through periods like these, and for those who haven't their time will come.

Because I *think* I know ... hell fk it why am I always so humble ... Because I *do* know how the mind works I also know exactly why happiness is an elusive goal and why changing perception can be powerful, though quite difficult to achieve at times. My biggest comfort is knowing what it is that creates these sort of negative feelings and then manipulating it, therefore I don't just take people's word for it. I have over-analyzed the hell out of it but that is just in my nature :D Not everyone's cup of tea.

You want to create happiness out of a stalemate situation. Two ways to achieve that. Change your perception or change your needs/situation. One alters your standards/baseline, the other increases the opportunity for novelty in your life. There is no permanent fix, you have to constantly do this when you're back in the same position.

A 3rd approach is to chase a destructive addiction that temporarily fools your reward center. I do not encourage this :) but is what happens to many people.
