Hey,

So currently we have a JoJo tank that we connected to our mains so if our water cuts out we can change to the JoJo and use that water instead. We have fitted all the pumps and filters and all that.
What I am trying to do now is automate turning it on and finding an easy way to track how full it is (Preferably on my phone).

Are there any products anyone would recommend for trying to achieve this? I have found these to turn the valves on and off: https://leroymerlin.co.za/tuya-wifi...l6Hj2GNpr_ZF4O99qTZQ2cTHYuPUbgrhoCSFwQAvD_BwE
Not sure how to go about connecting them with my phone though and would prefer one app to turn the valves and check the water levels.

I am happy to try get a Raspberry Pi and automate things that way if thats what is best.

is the tank filled with rain water or well point ? if well point, why not turn off the mains completely and only use the Jojo ?

You don't need any fancy devices to get it to change to your water tank automatically.
It all depends on how you have it plumbed in.
A summary is that you can have both your municipal water feed and tank on at the same time. Your pump will detect that there is sufficient pressure and never turn on.
If the municipal line goes down then the pump will kick in to provide pressure to your property.

Look at the municipal backup in this pdf

You could try it, but it didnt work for me. I had a similar unit for my water tank for a while. It didnt last 3 months. It looked exactly the same, but not bought from leroy merlin. The connectivity was spotty at best, despite being blasted with 2.4GHz. Then the servo motor burned out(?)
The old style mechanical float valve also has issues as the pressure differences makes my tank overflow sometimes. So I am on everything manual now, which isnt fun, but its great having water.
