SMS gets message across

Would be interested if www.moodle.org could be used for distance learning along with sms technology

What is Moodle ?
Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University.
Great for training centers to run practice test on students before
they write their exams ?

The university already has a comprehensive online service called SOS (Student Online Service) that features Web-CT Virtual Campus (Google Web-CT). The Web-CT component contains extensive information on the course, slides which were used in lectures to explain the work and also other important information posted by the course coordinator. Their online system is comprehensive and contains everything long distance students require to pass only the problem is, if you read the article, those people don't have access to the internet or even a computer for that matter.
 
Now this is a clever move! erm surely some cellphones can do email too?
