Smtp fail :/

Sup guys

Moved over to telkom uncapped from my usual telkom capped account.

Pop3 works but i cant seem to send mail any more.

Using smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net over port 587 *default port given by thunderbird*

Was working 100% when i was on my capped account, not any more that i moved over to uncapped.

Any ideas?

Don't seem to be able to telnet into port 587 from my end either (over Afrihost), but 25 works fine.

You can try using port 25 if security is not an issue, otherwise support call time?
 
Hi there when I moved from capped to uncapped I was given a new Pop3 and SMTP to use. Granted it was not Telkom but it might be worthwhile to check that.

Tim can you please provide me with POP3/SMTP details you were give from Telkom?

This SMTP server (the SAIX one) doesn't require authentication, and as such, it seems they don't have secure SMTP available. Use port 25.

If it doesn't work, send a mail with details to [email protected].
