SNO licensing in final stage

hehe, to be frank, even if they sign up finally with the lack of advertising, name, branding etc leads me to believe they won't be marketing for residential users but rather major companies etc and under telkom infrastructure, buying bandwidth too from them, even so there seems no urgency.

sno wouldnt be a BEE name ... way too white ... like chicken mayo saamies .. hehehe

embarassing

transtel have lost so much money they are already looking at other options

I think something is brewing by February 2006. We can maybe expect the SNO licence approval anouncement by then.

Yirre. First Telkom gets a 5 year monopoly extension in 1996(?) in exchange for installing x million lines in underserviced areas. To date less than 10% of those lines are in use. Conclusion: Telkom got a 5 year monopoly extension for sweet f-all.

Skip to 2005: Icasa and government bungling and heel dragging give Telkom another 3 year monopoly extension 100% gratis.

THAT'S AN 8 YEAR EXTENSION OF THEIR MONOPOLY.

Whatever they are called, they would be made welcome by many present disgruntled Telkom customers.
