If you really want to be kind to the batteries, operate between 20-80%.
Truth be told, the batteries are rated for ~6000 cycles down to DoD of 20%. That's 16 years. I'd rather get more for my buck now (20%-100%) and use them to the spec, than try and 'save' them to get maybe another year or two. By that time there would most probably be much better/cheaper tech available anyway

Show me where it says 6000 cycles?
 
Granted, I didn't check the Hubble but was referring to my Pylontechs. I assumed the Hubble would have a similar spec seeing as it's everyone's new favourite?
Hubble quotes 3000 cycles at zero DOC, and more than 6000 cycles at 50% DOD. So I have set my DOD at 25% to get slightly higher lifecycles.
But even after the quoted lifecycles they should still have 60 to 80% capacity so you dont throw them away like lead acid, I can just add another battery later on

Yup, hence why I was surprised by the earlier comment that you wouldn't get around 6000 cycles if using them between 20-100%

I think its conservative, I have set mine to 5% I typically hit 20-25% though. I plan on getting the most out the system, by the time these need to be replaced tech would likely have changed and be significantly cheaper - happy to take that "gamble"

This is even after running the oven etc night before so I am fine with it as is

You do know if you cycle them to 50% once a day, it would last close to 20 years, by which time better technology will be out already?

3000 cycles at 1C. Your 3x 1C batteries are capable of discharging at 16,500W, yet your loads are around 800W, under 0.05C. They will last a lot longer than 6000 cycles, just need to ensure that you charge them at 0,5 C or less.

Edit: The 8K Sunsynk's max charge is 190A, so that's already taken care of.
 
Great post. Thanks. I'm in the Western Cape, and was also looking at the 8kw Sunsynk. Electricity bill isn't that high, and I know if I replace my 200 L, 50 year old geyser it will already make more savings.

The 1 question I have... Can the Inverter, and batteries be stored in another place, a couple of meters away from the DB board? My DB board is in the kitchen, and swambo will not be happy if I occupy more cupboard space!

Yeah my inverter/batteries etc are in the garage around 10-15m away from the DB board in the dining room. the 8kw provides you with the freedom to switch on as you please and not think twice (to a certain degree)

Good point. My 12kw Sunsynk set to charge the 3 hubbke batteries at max 240ah so 80ah per battery. I am forecasting at least 15 year usable life out if the batteries.

and then still have 60-80%. I would say 90% if you didn't fully charge them.

80A per battery puts it at just under 0.7C, so yes I agree that the usable life will be extended beyond that guaranteed, provided that all of the other factors are also favorable (daily cycling, discharge rates, temperatures and inverter comms).

Interesting that you have a 12K - 3P? Residential install? How is it treating you, and how long have you had it for?

Sometimes we forget the Sunsynk also makes bigger stuff, like the 40/45/50K (considering that the thread is about a solar farm ;))
