So you did a scientific test where all external variables were eliminated? Like your exact RPM, speed, traffic and idling?

I call rubbish on that claim. Fuel standards are regulated. The only variables are your right foot.

Fuels are required by law to have specific additives included. The difference between brands is negligible, and is just marketing hype.

Mobil left long before that, in 1989, selling its' shares to Gencor. Engen needed a technology partner, and chose Petronas in 1991, IIRC. The buyout came later, in 1998.

Lol. Oh my word... That is a long time back... I think so. Just before the 'you are #1' started. I never did understand why they didn't go with 1-Shop rather than Quickshop. They laid the groundwork for it with those adverts.

Yes, Engen was Mobil. You could still get Mobil oils from Engen well into the 2000's.

Petronas bought the majority stake in Engen after Mobil sold its share - Engen did not choose Petronas.

Not sure what to say to you. Maybe it'll help if I tell you I worked for Mobil from 1985 till they left in 1989, then Engen till 1993. I was at the anouncement party for the Petronas deal in 1991. They sold Petronas product alongside Mobil products.

Check your exhaust. Mine has a little hole and that greatly affects performance.

Not saying I don't believe you, but thats not what Engen has told us. Their Brand Manifesto video we produced says otherwise. Maybe details got lost along the years, or Petronas shifted the story.

Thanks for that. I actually have a can of oil they produced especially to celebrate the Gencor purchase with a Pegasus (the horse) and Pegasus logo on it, light blue-grey colouring.
The history in that link is pretty much how I remember it from the onboarding stuff they gave me when I joined.

See, I have driven my car for a while now and I know very well when I am getting or not getting better mileage on petrol.

For you to question my experiences is rich considering that you never had those experiences.

I base my experience on science. Your daily driving habits are not considered science. You do know that there are so many external variables that make your point moot?

I bet you'd get the same mileage per tank if you weren't taking placebo's.

You don't drive exactly the same way each day FFS. Your foot is not a robot, and traffic isn't predictable.

The only way you can judge fuel performance is by testing in the lab or on a track. Stop sniffing snake oil, and accept the fact that the change in performance is YOU, not the fuel.
