So BP petrol is really bad

The same happened to me. I thought my spark plugs, battery or alternator was dying... but the problem disappeared when I switched fuel from Shell to Engen.
 
By the way, who bought the end-of-life antique Chevron refinery in Cape Town? I know it got sold last year or the year before because they didn't renew the maintenance on some software, but don't know who the new owner is.

I don't support Shell because they support Fracking. Or at least used to, not sure what their intake on fracking is nowadays.
But getting back to your tests it shows you that not all fuels are the same and will act differently in each car.
You need to experiment and find the right fuel for your car it seems.
So many different factors, and here all this time I thought petrol was just petrol and it was all the same, clearly not. Thanx for the share
 
With me using diesel I would say 90% of the time. I only use garages with their tanks above ground. My local, is damn cheap R 13.17 (50ppm) and all their tanks are above ground.
 
Glencor and a BBBEE partner got the refinery in Cape Town, I think it calls Astron Energy now
 
If you work in the Oil & Gas sector in SA, then you will know all refineries in SA produce fuels to a standard grade and then each retailer add their own additives. At one stage, all the tankers go thru the refineries needs to be non-branded in order not to confuse the public, i.e. when BP tanker goes to Secunda to get Diesel to their BP stations.

I dont comment on people when they said they can beat science... I would also group those guys with the Flat Earthers.
 
It would be extra amusing if OP has an 8 plug Honda Jazz model and didn't know it actually uses 8 spark plugs and was only changing four of them every time...

Its renamed as Astron I was there last year on a tour. Its not antique anymore. They've refurbished tanks and a lot of new eqiupment is installed.

aaaaaah yes i see now, my 1 motorbike also does the same, a twin sparkplug on a single 650cc cylinder BMW 650 Funduro
So it isnt 8 physical sparkplugs

Yes. Astron Energy is the new name, and they now also own the Caltex brand in SA. But who are the owners? There were rumours that Communist China's owned Sinopec were in for a few hundred million dollars, but I'm curious who the local guys are.

No it is 8 physical plugs, not dual head single spark plugs.

Sinopeq from China.....but deal still needs to be completed I believe, but to my knowledge all approvals has been obtained
