We have been running strong since day one

the slowest I get is about 18Kb/s on downloads and usually run at about 28Kb/s

Thats on 256 packages ( so max should be 32K/bs )

No speed problems here either, 26.13kb/sec Tower:126 17%

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

Yesterday (for a while) my connection was really crawling [V] but now seems to be back to normal [:)]

My connectiosn also fine. Had problems but it was sorted out about a hour before the gates of hell were opened on sentech helpdesk. I don't think there are a lot of happy users of mywireless.

then why am i going so slowly on 128k. ive never seen more than 4kb/s download speed. using bedfordview tower 22% signal

Just did a daytime speed test (usually work at night and get good speeds then), results are "114.80kbps which means you can download at 14.35 KB/sec. from our servers." So seems I'm getting full speed during the day too, or perhaps just happen to be at the moment. On tower 22 in Pta.

Inevitable, stop all downloads and open the connection properties dialog and check if there is a lot of outgoing traffic - since you went online with an unpatched Windows (as mentioned in other thread), you may have a worm/trojan installed that is chewing up bandwidth.

Other than 10% packet loss, and occasional temporary disconnects, I haven't experienced a problem yet. 128k package, consistently downloading at +/-15kb/s, 51% signal, Sentech Brixton [126] tower.

i have no connection properties, im using the sentech dialup software, dont know how to use ordinary software with this modem

Okay, that's a whole 6 (SIX) users sofar, who AREN'T having speed problems (and who conveniently came out of the woodwork at this point)
- and of those 6 -
1 referred to "their connection the day before was really crawling"
1 "Had problems" (but now sorted out)
1 "no problems this week sofar"
which means that out of 6 users who apparently ARENT having speed problems, only 3 of them made an unqualified, cheerfully content statement of 'no speed problems whatsoever' :P
Lets keep score together, folks :)

But it does show not everyone is crawling at 3Kb/s

So maybe we can all help and find out what is the common denominator ???

Why are some fast and some slow ????

hmmm very interesting.

The patchy nature of the problem seems to suggest a cause other than MW's peering into the wider internet? I.e. its local to MW's own network? Some kind of latent fault in the tech they use (unlikely?!) or simply local misconfiguration?

We need some kind of user-to-user diplomatic embassy to the New Zealand users? Perhaps post to they equivalent of myadsl??? I.e. interrogate them about their experiances???

Just a few random thoughts ...

Also i personally know 5 other people on MW, but they have never posted/ visited the forum, and
I have not heard any omplaints from them, even th 2 I asked this morning

So there seem too be happy people out there

So lets Kick Sentechs Ass to get everybody happy

Their explanation of slow speeds is CRAP, because as we have proved here some have got high speed

ok im connected faster now i put the maximum speed bps in connection settings up to 230400. what should it be set at?

Also should my connection in connection settings be in dial up or broadband? cant get anything with braodband?

Also how do i configure the sentech status monitor to dial up from my connection that i created in netwrok connections?
