... but when I plug in my USB E220, it does nothing :/

The J: appears in my computer, but when I double click, it says 'corrupt' or something. Normal?

Also, if I ever need to download drivers for anything, do I use Vista drivers?

You my friend will use your Vista Drivers;)

The E220s needed the firmware flashed in order to use them with Vista so if you haven't done it yet then there's your problem. My E270 was/is plug&play with 7 but it's the same with Vista.

Not sure about Vodacom but if you are using MTN then you can download the update from their site, only thing is you need to flash the firmware using Windows XP as the OS needs to detect the modem for it to work.

It all depends on the platform you are running. If you are running Windows 7 64bit, you are out off luck! I was not able to get the E220 working, if you're using the 32bit Win 7, then you would be using the Vista driver.

I wish I could install 7 - each time I try something goes wrong, first the ISO was corrupt, then the DVD wouldn't read, now the USB keyboard doesn't detect prior to Windows loading - and the PS2 port thingy doesn't work on the PC :(

So you've tried burning another disc?

LOL. You did not take the hint the first time.

It's too damn expensive anyway.

Mine started but couldn't find a network, removed the software, re-installed the software, it worked

I installed Windows 7 a couple of weeks ago. I then tried to play Stalker Clear Sky and got a pop-up saying "please insert original CD". The CD was an original so it seemed like a compatibility issue. (The game came with my graphics card) I immediately removed Windows 7 and went back to WinXP. WinXP works fine with everything. I mostly use the PC for gaming anyways.

What are the benefits of Win 7 over WinXP? I only game and use the net.

I had the same problem under Win7 ... flashed the E220 with the new firmware, and it was sorted

LOL - yeh - but that didn't fix my keyboard not working during boot-up - So I can't press "Enter" to boot from CD :p

That doesn't sound like a windows 7 problem. More like BIOS settings. At the boot from CD stage, no OS should have loaded yet so if your USB keyboard is not visible, check you BIOS setup look for any USB keyboard settings.

Just an idea.

LOL - never said it was a Windows 7 problem - I know its a keyboard/bios problem - but you can't get into the bios without a keyboard.

Rapid you need a ps2 keyboard and mouse... then change your BIOS setting to "use legacy USB" then you will be able to use the USB keyboard and mouse.

:( Its broken :(

Hmm - just thought of something, I can start the install on one PC, then move the hard drive to the broken PC.

Right ... got my wireless N working (first time!) as well as my 3G modem.

NOW I see the hype over this OS ;)

I was lucky, all my hardware including the E220 works just fine under W7. Granted I use the Mobile Connect software from Huawei, and also had to flash my modem in XP before it would work in Vista /W7.
