... and it is not all that bad. Even had the sofa and everything. :D

Anyone here also been for therapy? You don't have to say why, lets share. :)

Went when I was a lightie. Apparently people frown on stabbing sharpened pencils in other kiddies' hands on the first day of school

I hated my therapist. He lied to me frequently about keeping my secrets between us - he told my entire family. Which didnt help because I had been lying to him about my dad smacking me around a bit (IOW I hadnt told him). So he told my dad, who smacked me around, then I refused to tell my therapist for fear he would tell my dad and he would smack me again.

Thanks for letting me share!!!! :D

PS: I am over it - talking about things is the best thing to do - good luck Sox. I am sure there are many on these forums who would agree that you need therapy :D

No problem at all with it.

You go to your doctor every year for a (body) check-up; why not go for a mind check-up as well?

I saw a therapist in high school, well a social worker anyway. They had a meeting with my folks and told them if they want a functional relationship with the rest of the family they should get rid of me.

Needless to say my parents never let me go back there again.

Never trust those little ****ers, ever.

@ Juggy: What the! Hey now?

I saw a therapist weekly for about 3 months. I stopped eventually because I didn't fell like it was getting anywhere. A few months later I realized the good it did. During the 3 months there was a specific epiphany that made all the sessions worth the money. She pointed out something I had never realized before and it gave me huge insight into myself.

How did your parents take the news or did they always suspect that you preferred your sister's pink slippers?

They reacted better than I thought. Mumbled something about vaseline and changed the channel on the TV.

Never been to therapy. I only took the drugs lol

A therapist would probably have me locked in an assylum..

The majority of people who go for therapy are not diagnosed with any particular mental disease. People are scared that is what will happen, hence they do not go.

Mostly people just share their problems and are - hopefully - guided with a number of workable options.

My brother was a psychologist (he has changed careers in the meantime, because his was apparently quite stressful) and being around that environment, it is quite emotionally taxing for the practitioner too. Some things are too difficult to just ignore or forget that easily.

I had to study Industrial Psychology.
Spotted so many stuff that's wrong with me, that I don't think I can afford the bill. I'm not bipolar at all though.:)

Anyway so I don't want to see a shrink because they're fsking morons.

So I'm thinking about going to a Psychologist soon just to chat, there's nothing wrong with me.:)

This bit makes it sound like you are trying too hard...:p

Why do you think you feel that there is nothing wrong with you?

Nah, never had therapy of any type... I don't have issues... well, I had a anger issue, but my ex gf helped me through that.

Now I just talk to you guys when I'm angry ;)

The beautiful thing is that no-one is 100% 'normal'. Everyone has their quirks - they may be a tad obsessive-compulsive, slightly paranoid, etc.

Most people are functional, i.e. able to operate in society without harming themselves or others (too much!)

I told my one of my ex girlfriends that she needed to see a psychologist, so she went and ended up in Falkenburg. I thought she was crazy but not THAT crazy. Anyway she got over it and now she is actually a very successful bussiness woman.

U got mommy issues?

I said no such thing.
You're out to get me.

Elaborate on that - lets work with what you are feeling now. How does that make you feel? And what does it make you want to do? Who do you blame? Tell me about your childhood...
