So I underestimated the iPad....

Was just thinking, with Christmas here wouldn't it be easier to get away with someone from oversea's sending a package as Gift?

Sending something as a gift is no guarantee at all that customs will turn a blind eye.

But what if it is legitimatelly a gift? My God Mother will be in Florida for December.
She asked what i wanted for Christmas so i said i will pay towards her buying me an Ipad. lol :p

Doesn't really matter, anything imported is subject to whatever duties and vat would normally apply.

Help with ipad, looking to get daughter ipad, is there a big difference between the 16gb, 32gb and 64gb? Is the memory size mainly to store the various apps? I was thinking maybe inbetween, say the 32gb wi-fi? would that be a good buy? do
I need the 3g? should I wait for April next year for the ipad 2? and lastly, are there apps available locally, I read online it could be a bit of a mission getting apps for it, and one past lastly, which apps are awesome and how much do they cost?

In each case there's double the storage as the model preceding it. :D

I have the 16gb wifi model and for my needs it seems to be ample. I've got a dozen or so movies loaded as well as countless photo libraries and loads of apps . . . and still have 8gb free. I don't have much in the way of music because when I want to listen to tunes away from the house I've got an ipod for the car and an iphone for everywhere else. I would load more movies but I usually stream from my media centre when I'm at home and only load up video for the kids when I'm going out. I'm also slowly moving my book library over to the iPad.

Most of my favourite apps are free.

free apps, I didn't know they existed, where do you get them from? you you need to register somehow at the usa apple store?

I'm registered with the US and UK stores but there is also a local SA one that may well have apps.

Register for the US store - instructions are on the first page of the iPhone tips/tricks post.
