Well if the parts are expensive. Ill ride this merc till something breaks on it that I dont wanna pay to have fixed (its not worth it), then Ill strip the car and sell the pieces :D Ill make a lot of money that way :D

I love his opener, "dont buy this car unless you are a millionaire". Duh, I thought that was the only people who could afford to buy them new :D

Actually seems half plausible. My aunt insisted on driving an older car too because she taught at a rural school and didn't want to rock up in a BMW (hubby was loaded).

ah right...yeah those old auto's are pretty cool. Not entirely smooth but pretty bulletproof.

This thread reminds me of the top gear namibia desert episode where clarkson drives an old merc on the theory that they're ridiculously overengineered.
 
Was cleaning out the car today (there was still a bunch of his stuff left in there) and inside the bag that has the car instructions and service log was a ring attached to my grans (she passed away several years ago) old casino (they liked to waste money on gambling) card. The type the casino gives you for special parking when you spend cash at their casino. Have no clue if those are real diamonds, if its real, if it belonged to my gran, why its in the car. I assume it belongs to her and he kept that close for sentimental reasons or something.

About the year, I would say 1993 or 1994. The car is definitely before the facelift (1996) because the AC still has a Rest button and in 1995 they phased our the 2.2l petrol engine.

If you ever thing of letting that car go please let me know. I love Mercedes and as I said the W202 C220 is part of my childhood.
 
Ghoti I would say fill it up and drive it empty to get some real fuel stats.

Looking at a Gauge means nothing.
