So Origin cancled my Titanfall Pre-order

Why is Microsoft not to blame? They are publishing the game.

They are also withdrawing it in regions where they cannot obtain the service levels, also cancelled the pre-orders.

Do you think it is viable to have MS deploy an Azure node in SA, core purpose being content delivery, do state your reasons why?

If Steam can do it, and all the other online game providers, why not MS?
 
Lol, so apparently single player campaigns count for nothing these days. They're effectively deciding not to release it based on the MP component alone. Bunch of scumbags...

Well they havent even decided to grace us with the XBox One, while the PS4 has been out for ages now. How did MS screw up so badly this generation? Last gen they were so good!

You know that MS designed a game on Azure, which is in truth a stack service. Azure are two things, one being an IaaS and the other a PaaS, the rest is SaaS. This by no means setting up one or two servers in a server room.

Interestingly though, what happens when Steam wants to go completely scalable?

Well it's obvious that Microsoft have done their sums and find South Africa a non profitable country, let them look elsewhere. We will too.

How is Steam not scalable at the moment?

What do Microsoft's other offerings in SA run on? I mean, Office 365 is (partially) hosted here right?

I'm sure its not as easy as a server two. But if MS has any hopes of eventually selling the XBO here, they will need to bring Azure out here. Plus I'm sure other services depend on it. And it could be a competitive offering, say for companies currently using EOH or something similar.

Maybe a better question is why have MS not brought Azure here already?

EDIT: By not bringing Titanfall here (and I doubt we are the only affected region), and by not bringing the XBO here (and again, not the only ones who have not got it), MS have basically handed Sony this generation on a platter.

Plain old greed. When they were trying to gain market share, they did things in our best interests. Now they do things in their best interests. Fortunately they're not as dominant as they are with the desktop market, so we still have the option (on console at least) of sticking it to them...

Agreed, at the top it's Microsoft but I wonder how long EA have been sitting on this info? Perhaps it's unfair to blame EA and not the other distributors but if you have been collection cash from people, holding onto that money and not delivering while reaping in interest on that cash it's a bit swak.
