So, What are the Odds?

Long story short; what are the odds of someone becoming pregnant if they're on the pill, and a condom is always used... but the condom broke and they've been taking antibiotics for a few days?

I'm adamant that it's a pretty long shot and not worth working myself into a flat spin about (yet), but the GF has been in a state of panic...
I'm curious, why is she on the pill and you guys are using a condom as well?

OP, You are going think irrationally and say some crazy things over the next few weeks. But as has already been mentioned, chances are still slim. Keep calm and carry on.

One of the scarier things in life though, isn't it? :whistling:

Doesn't seem like OP is nearly as worried as his SO.

It can happen as antibiotics do negate the pill a lot. Still, I would imagine the odds are fairly slim.

Pharmacist confirms that the antibiotics she's on don't interfere with the pill, so she's calmer now. Which makes me a happy man!

That should worry you!

Why? it might be possible that neither of them want a child at this particular point in time.
Hell if this happened to us my wife would be the same, its just not what we want.

I suspect he meant that her reaction might be a sign that she was lying about being on the pill, hence the out-of-proportion panic she was exhibiting.

Although you'd be correct in your assumption that neither of us want kids, yet.

Oh the irony, after reading and commenting on this thread, the exact same thing happens to me this weekend :(
