hi, can anyone suggest some software that will let me copy ps2 games... free stuff preferably

Please don't post such stuff here you are in essence putting the reputation of the entire myadsl forum at stake.

Again, making backups of a game that you own is legal...

It's MUCH cheaper to just play your backups and replace them when they get scratched than to replace an original.

Anyway, look up DVDDecrypter and ISOBuster if you're really interested in maing LEGAL BACKUPS of your games...

Actually according to South African law, making backups of your games is NOT legal. Neither is making mix tapes for you car or ripping your CD's to MP3's.

I don't like it, but it is the law.

geez guys relax give the oke some advice and move on

funny how you so called anti piraters own tons of movies mp3s and the like

preaching is not cool when u chilling listening to pirated music

if you have ever owned 1 pirate mp3 your a pirate end of story

sad how ppl preach yet do the exact same thing

doobie are you telling me if i have a copied cd in my car or my usb stick is fulla legit music from collection they can do anything about?

plz man cops dont give a crap about your cd's and im glad because murder rape is way worse than some oke ripping of an artist who has like 100m dolla fortune

I've read his/her post several times. Nowhere does he/she mention anything about "backing up" any PS2 game.

Anyhoo, get your piracy stuff here. Not a big selection, but it's free and I can get a reward for your trouble!;)

Hey don't ruin our fun ;)

I'd love to see the actual law that states that backups are illegal.

I don't suppose anyone can provide some form of reference?

I don't think Doobi is correct.

The following extract below is taken from here: http://www.buys.co.za/publications/cyberlaw/CopyrightAct.htm

(2) The copyright in a computer program shall not be infringed by a person who is in lawful possession of that computer program, or an authorized copy thereof, if-

(a) he makes copies thereof to the extent reasonably necessary for back-up purposes;

(b) a copy so made is intended exclusively for personal or private purposes; and

(c) such copy is destroyed when the possession of the computer program in question, or authorized copy thereof, ceases to be lawful.

Well I look forward to being corrected ;) But I think software and media are treated different as software carries a separate license, and that's what needs to be preserved, whereas they treat media as wares.

@Killa, likewise, every piece of media I have I've paid for, and yes (unless the law has changed) that burned disc/usb stick in your car is illegal. I don't like it I don't agree with it, I do use burned CD's myself, but only for stuff I've paid for.

but I guarantee, isi.catch wants to pirate games.

It doesn't really matter if he wants to make personal backups or mass-produce for the black market, the process would be the same. Adding the word "backup" to every sentence helps to ward off the devil at the door.

guys at the end of the day piracy is massive and i cannot believe for one second you've never pirated anything in your entire life, piracy maybe a crime but its the better than some of the crimes lol that does no make it right though

why shut this thread down it always gets interesting :)
