Rubbish.. it doesn't cost tech companies anywhere near this..

Counting a pirated copy of software as a lost sale is just not accurate, I would guess alot of people who use pirated software wouldn't do so if they had to pay the retail price for it...

To count a pirated piece of software on someones computer as one unit of sales lost is piss poor logic.
Almost nobody who has a pirated copy of, for example, Pirates of the Carribean, would have bought the DVD if they did not have access to the pirated copy.

It's like Rolex counting every counterfeit Rolex watch that has been sold as if those people would have bought Rolex watches if they hadn't come across the counterfeit from that street vendor.

It is faulty logic being used to manipulate people's opinion by blowing up the statistics to make it seem far worse than it is....and I take offense to it. Their latest ploy it seems is to do the "it is costing OVER 9000 people their jobs...shame on you you evil pirate scum! Think of the children!!!"

All I can say is "F**K YOU WHALE....and F**K YOU DOLPHEEEEEN!!!!!"

How about some articles on what the CSS world is doing to intellectual property rights, freedoms and innovation? Probably way more than the "loss" these behemoth monopolies "endure".

Oh - and to those of you who DO pirate M$ products, I will happily hand you over to the BSA. If you do not want to spend money on software, do the right thing and support OSS.

So WTF are you talking about? Shame small OS syndrome? Believe it not microsoft are not exactly going out their way to stop pirates, they try scare people but do very little to curb the piracy, it keeps windows on most pc's which is a win for them. So go run to bsa and cry like a little girl that people are not using OSS but they don't care hahaha.

When it can run the latest games come holla at us windows users.

How about a story on how many billions of dollars and hours have been lost by poor users who have legitimately purchased useless software over the years? My goodness there is some cr@p out out there - where is our protection from them, BSA?

I really don't get whether these articles are made to try and make us feel guilty, feel sorry, or question the morality of some company potentially 'losing' income. The business world is tough--either you learn to deal with your 'losses' or you get out of the boiler-room. No-one is going to feel sorry for you--believe me.

If you ask me they are preaching to the wrong crowd.

Remind us that children are dying of hunger each day, terrorist attacks are commonplace, and events take place that changes peoples lives--and not in a good way. Then you will maybe get an emotional response.
