Software to mirror images & text?

Okay, I'm sure someone is going to say "idiot, you can do it in word!"

I'm looking for software that can mirror images & text. It must be able to resize the images & text and also be able to print it.

I have tried Gimp and it does work, but to be honest, my photo-shop skills are zero. I can never select what I want or stop drawing a line, once I figured how to start it.

I would prefer the software package to be free and not online based.
If it can be done in MS Office, can you pm me and explain how it can be done?

Edit: I see it can be done via MS Office, if you use word-art.

Any other suggestions are welcome though
