Hi Guys

I'm looking for software that I can use to run a PC's CPU and if possible it's HD and ram at full speed.

Any ideas?

Use Prime95 for the cpu...

For the ram what do you mean by full speed? It's always running at the speed it's clocked to, as is the HDD.

For what? Benchmarking or to boost performance?

Basically I have a user that complains about her PC being loud but everytime I get there it's quiet. So I want something to simulate it working hard so I can see what the noise problem is.

You can try one of these, they're not free but you can download a trial version.

I'm not aware of any free alternative, but I'm sure if you looked there would be something available.

Easiest, and one that you can do at any machine.

Create a batch file, called stress.bat:

:dir

dir C:\ /s

goto dir

This will stress the CPU and harddisk. If you want to stress it more; simply create additional copies and run them all at the same time....
Quick, easy, free and painless....

Had a similiar problem once with a client and it turned out that walking on the wooden floor next to the PC made the wires inside touch the fan. So I tied up everything nicely and moved it onto a desk. Problem solved.
