Solar-powered PC classroom is completely off the grid

And the panels will be stolen in the next few weeks.
That is based on the other solar powered classrooms that were attempted in SA.

Yes, along with the PCs on the inside.

Hope someone will do a check on this again in six months, so that we can compare the 'before' and 'after' pics.

Kudos for trying to do something good for the kids though.

Having worked in that exact field (rural school connectivity) for years I learned to appreciate new idea, innovations, initiatives and enthusiasm. Our youth definitely deserve high exposure to computers and the internet throughout their schooling.

Unfortunately, the key challenge of these projects is sustainability, scalability and educational outcomes, and it would be great to know what this project is doing differently from the many before it, before assessing. Solars have been done, containers have been done.

I hope this will be sustainable. I have doubts about how long it will survive. Maybe the Karate kids in the photo will protect it?
Also where are the panels located? None are visible in the photo.

I wouldn't like to sit on these awkward high bar chairs for a long time. There is no place between the chair and the table-top to place your legs/knees.

Well done! I beg to differ to the negatives here... the school is surging ahead of the private schooling sector in my home Province KZN!

I was waiting for the typical negative drivel. Kudos to you.

We would be happy to be wrong on this one, but it is unavoidable to get cynical about stories like this after a while.

This continent takes all that is beautiful and flushes it down the toilet.
