Soldering Station from Amazon

From my experience there is no good way to convert 110v - 220v especially with devices that pull a lot of amps.
You would probably be better off looking on Banggood or Aliexpress for something similar that comes in 220/240V

Given that these soldering stations are transformer based it is not a good idea to use it here. You will blow the fuse and/or destroy the transformer. You should also be able to find the same station in a 220v version on ebay or banggood.

Why not buy a soldering station here? There's a very good one that's made locally?

The only reason for that is I haven't found a good but still cheap soldering station here where you can actually see the temps of both the soldering gun and the heat gun on a display.

Ah ok THANKS for the info.

Look harder... I have one...

Bought a magnum directly from them earlier this year. Fantastic product. Worth the money.

Yeah you get what you pay for..

Yeah I will hope so:ROFL: but then again I'm no expert and just started to get into this hobby since I'm going to study software dev in 2 years and we are going to work with Microbotics (arduinos and raspberry pis) so I just want to start practicing my soldering technique, and I surely don't want to go bankrupt just to buy myself a soldering iron. LOL

What do you actually want, a soldering station or a smt rework station as per the original post?

Well... TBH I don't really know... I do want to work on arduino based projects and the only reason I actually looked at the SMD work station was, because I like the idea of using the heat gun for heat shrink and not have those ugly burn marks like you get when you accidentally leave a lighters flame for a second to long on the heat shrink. Hope all that makes sense:)

I would suggest looking at some youtube reviews for those chinese products, they're not all bad. the other day eevblog reviewed a $9 chinese process meter and by the time I watched it all the online shops were out of stock. I mean even all these pakistani repair shops use chinise reflow stations, I'm sure they're fine for soldering arduino based projects etc so I would not really worry about it as you get guys using cheapass soldering irons from game etc
