Solidarity warns Telkom against race based severance packages

Solidarity's case is pretty weak if I understand it correctly. Clearly the people affected will take whatever option they think is best so no harm there. The people who don't get the opportunity to choose are at a disadvantage, but that is standard practice with voluntary retrenchment packages afaik (You don't offer them to people you don't want to lose).

Way to go Solidarity! You sure know how to desperately seek sympathy. The race card will definitely raise eyebrows. Everybody in this country just loves using the race card.

Telkom is going about this the wrong way, however, you simply can't do things without valid reasons, that is giving people more than enough ammunition to aim at you.
 
Solidarity are IDIOTS.

They are voluntary packages, every tom, dick & harry has the option to apply. From past statistics more white people would however apply.
 
Hopefully middle and upper management are the ones who take the packages, and then they use the money saved from management to employ more ground level staff, like Technicians.
