DSTV Remote control

I wonder if im the only one that's having a problem with the dstv remote control,when pressing the volume + button the channels are skipping on the decoder ,now this been going on for some time and its driving me up the wall.Specially if you want the volume up a bit and then the damm channels are changing.

IIRC antowan was having problems with his because of interference - in his case from those energy saver bulbs. Got any of those in the vicinity?

This has been happening to me and a friend of mine.

Solution: In both cases there was not 100% clear view between the remote and the decoder (both DSD990). Every time I press V +, the channels go up or down. I thought it is the remote that is faulty.

Just move the decoder to the front of the wall unit, so when you down on the sofa there is not a piece of "wall unit" between the remote and the decoder censor. After I moved the decoder forward or lifting the remote (nothing in the line of the remote and the decoder) it has never happened again.

My remote stopped changing channels on channel two (PVR), it actually stopped doing anything on that channel.

The remote works 100% on TV 1 though?

So after my wife spent an hour on the phone resetting things, and upgrading this and blah blah blah they told her to pack it all up and bring it into Multichoice for repairs...

So she takes it in, they change the batteries and what do you know it works 100% again... She was not happy with me

So before doing anything remember to check the batteries. Those remotes are weird.

I tried the battery thing and it work. Order has been restored in my life again…
