Hi all,

It's time for another one of these threads:

Its finally time for me to ditch my old 775 setup and move to Sandybridge. I do however have some questions. I currently only need a new motherboard, CPU, memory and GPU. All my other components are fine. 700W thermaltake PSU, HAF case etcetc.

So my questions are as follows:
Which is the best mobo to overclock the hell out of the 2500k with which RAM? I have PLENTY of cooling. WRT motherboards are there still rev 1 recall boards floating around the retailers?
Which GPU in the 2-2.5k in the nvidia (i like nvida so :P) is reccomended? I currently have an 8800 GTS which I am going to keep as a physx card
Lastly where to get the gear at the best price with good support? I usually shop at prophecy and have been pleased with them to date

At this point budget isn't too much of an issue so fire away :)

The best boards for over clocking are the new Z68 chipsets.

Prophecy is good.

The best GFX is an ATi 6870, maybe some comparable nVidia, I don't know, the GTX 560.

Rather go for the Asus GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II card, which retails for under R2500 at Wootware. See the links for it in my previous post.

Don't go for the i5 2500 bundle at Evetech, because it's not the i5 2500k!

Hmmm wootware does look good, how is their delivery to jhb? And their aftersales support ?

@pada if you scroll down there is a k option.. (3rd one)

If it must be nvidia then 560ti DirectCU II should be your choice hands down.
But I'd rather build up a combo like evetechs and see what total you come to, then chose which ever is cheapest..
